What is an IPA?

The advantages of an IPA are the functions it performs for medical practices. As a Messenger Model it supports contracts with insurance companies; assembles, credentials, and educates members. IPA’s offer members strong leadership and help drive groups to develop more mature organizations. IPA’s wield far greater power than individual physicians alone as they are able to undertake administrative functions that reduce healthcare costs.
